On Friday, December 12, 2014, Detectives from the Bethlehem Police Department’s Vice/Special Operations Unit, Street Crimes Unit and Officers from the Bethlehem Housing Authority Street Crimes Unit arrested a JONATHAN LASALLE,   age 23,  of the 600 Block of Ridge Street, Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, on drug related charges.

This arrest was the result of a one month investigation into heroin dealing by LASALLE in an around the area of the Bethlehem Housing Authority Lynnfield Development.  In the early morning hours of December 12, 2014, surveillance was established on LASALLE and numerous drug deals were observed.

At approximately 11:30 am, LASALLE was arrested in the 1200 Block of Daly Avenue after a traffic stop.  LASALLE was in possession of 40 bags of heroin and $320.00 in cash.  LASALLE’S Honda Accord was seized as part of the investigation.

A search warrant was then served at 604 Ridge Street, apartment #4.  Detectives located packaging materials and other items.  Detectives then received permission to search 1720 Lynnfield Drive, the home of LASALLE’S mother.  Inside this location, Detectives located approximately 7 grams of loose heroin, worth a street value of $3,000.00, packaging materials including a scale, grinder and bags, and $14,000.00 in cash, which was hidden in a secret compartment.

LASALLE was charged with two counts of Possession with the Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Use of a Communication Device.  LASALLE was arraigned before Northampton County District Justice Joseph Barner and bail set at $5,000.00.  LASALLE was committed to Northampton County Prison pending Court action.

This arrest was the result of citizens and police cooperation and partnership. When the citizens and police work together, problems and issues are solved, thus making the community a safer place to raise a family, work and visit.

The Bethlehem Police Department will continue to cooperate with the public and use all resources available in its efforts to investigate all drug and criminal complaints, and to arrest all individuals that sell drugs, and/or possess or use illegal firearms, or commit crimes of violence and other crimes, in the City of Bethlehem.
