On Thursday, August 7, 2014, at approximately 0042 hours, Bethlehem Police Officers responded to a shooting outside of the Happy Tap Bar at 601 E. Fourth Street, Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
The victim, a 24 year old male, from Lehigh County, was struck by gunfire in his back. The victim ran to the area of Founders Way and Second Street where Police found him. Bethlehem City Police transported the victim to St. Lukes Hospital for t medical treatment. The victim was listed in stable condition as of early this morning.
The victim was in the Happy Tap Bar. When the victim left the bar, a Hispanic male followed the victim outside of the bar. Once outside the bar on the sidewalk, the Hispanic male pulled out a handgun, pointing the handgun at two other males who had exited the bar, and then proceeded to open fire with the handgun towards the victim. The victim fled on foot from the bar area.
Thru investigation by City Detectives, the Hispanic male shooter has been identified as one MANUEL COLLAZO, age 30, from 2315 Oak Park Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44109.
A warrant for COLLAZO’S arrest was sworn out by Detective Brad Jones before Northampton County Judge Nancy Matos. COLLAZO is charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Homicide, (2) Counts of Aggravated Assault, Possessing Instruments of Crime, (3) Counts Terroristic Threats, Persons Not to Possess Firearms,
Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License, and (3) Counts Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
COLLAZO has a criminal history for Drugs, Aggravated Robbery and Felonious Assault. COLLAZO is a convicted Felon and should be considered Armed and Dangerous.
COLLAZO made be operating a silver Jeep Patriot bearing Ohio License plates. COLLAZO is accompanied by a female and two small children.
