On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, Bethlehem Police Officers observed a large crowd in the area of Garrison and Guetter Streets. Some type of physical altercation was beginning. When Police units arrived to disperse the crowd, Officers heard multiple gunshots and people from the crowd started running in all directions.
A male with a gunshot wound to his right hip was found in a parking lot at Main Street and Union Blvd. This victim was treated at the scene by City Paramedics and taken to St. Lukes Hospital for treatment. He is listed in stable condition.
A second gunshot wound victim, another male, was taken by private vehicle to Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem, by associates. He suffered a gunshot wound to his groin area and is listed in stable condition.
The shooting scene was established to be at the intersection of Garrison Street and Masslich Streets. Evidence was recovered at the scene. 6-10 individuals were detained by Police for questioning.
