FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JULY 7, 2014
On Monday, July 7, 2014, Officer Michael Buckley and Officer Michael Karavoulias went to 710 Wyandotte Street, Apt. # 2, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Northampton County. The purpose of the Officers going there was to serve an active arrest warrant on a ROBERT LUKE GROSSET, age 24, of that address. GROSSET was wanted by Officer Buckley on drug charges (Heroin Possession) relative to a June 3, 2014 incident in south Bethlehem.
Officer Buckley knocked on the apartment door and GROSSET answered the door by opening it. GROSSET immediately slammed the apartment door into the Officer’s face and arm, causing the front window glass pane in the door to shatter on Officer Buckely, cutting into the Officer’s right arm.
Officer Buckley sustained a large laceration, approximately seven inches in length, and other damage to his arm. Officer Buckley was transported to St. Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill where he was admitted and is undergoing surgery to repair his right arm.
GOSSET was taken into custody after fleeing back into his apartment by Officer Buckley and Officer Karavoulias. GROSSET was arraigned by Senior Judge Elizabeth Romig, sitting for Judge Nancy Matos, on Charges of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Escape. GROSSET was committed to Northampton County Prison pending court action.
