On 08 May 2014 at 1508 hours, members of the Bethlehem Police Vice Unit, Street Crimes Unit, and Emergency Response Team served a search warrant at 754 Pawnee Street in the City of Bethlehem.
As part of an ongoing investigation, Luis Angel Morales-Rios, was stopped in his vehicle as he left 754 Pawnee St. Morales-Rios was found to be in possession of 622 dollars and an amount of marijuana. A search warrant was then conducted at the residence. The search revealed a loaded Jimenez Arms .380 semi-automatic pistol, 56 bags of heroin, an amount of crack cocaine, an amount of marijuana packaged for sale, scales and packaging materials. Also located was an elaborate video surveillance system in the residence.
Morales-Rios was charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin, possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Morales-Rios was arraigned before on-duty Northampton County District Justice Diane Marakovits and bail set at 50,000 dollars. Morales-Rios was committed to Northampton County Prison. This investigation was part of an ongoing effort to identify and arrest heroin dealers in the City of Bethlehem.
