Drug Arrest Information

APRIL 30, 2014

BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA

On 28 April 2014 at 1405 hours, members of the Bethlehem Police Vice Unit and Street Crimes Unit arrested a Raul Torres-Gonzalez (age 26) of the 600 Block of Aaron Street during a “buy-bust” operation. Torres-Gonzalez sold six bags of heroin to a confidential informant in the area of Williams Street and Eighth Street.

Torrez-Gonzalez was followed from the area and a traffic stop was conducted at Williams Street and Creek Road where he was taken into custody without incident. Seized during the operation was 950 dollars and 80 bags of heroin worth a street value of 800 dollars. Torres-Gonzalez was charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin, delivery of heroin and criminal use of communication facility. Torres-Gonzalez was arraigned before on-duty Northampton County District Justice Barner and bail set at 10,000 dollars. Torres-Gonzalez was committed to Northampton County Prison.

This past Saturday, April 26, 2014, the 8th annual Cops ‘n’ Kids Children Literacy Program took place at Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third Street, Bethlehem, Pa. 18015.

The event was attended by over a thousand families from all over, along with City of Bethlehem Mayor Robert Donchez, Bethlehem Police Department, Northampton County Sheriffs Department, Bethlehem Fire Department and EMS, Lehigh University Police Department, Miss Pennsylvania Khari Siegfried, and many more groups, volunteers, authors, and businesses who donated their time and energy. Many businesses and corporations throughout the Lehigh Valley were sponsors for this event.

On behalf of the Bethlehem Police Department, I would personally like to say Thank You to all who helped and sponsored this event. All of you in some way made a difference in the life of these children.

Drug Arrest Announced

BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA

On 18 April 2014 at approximately 0800 hours, members of the Bethlehem Police Emergency Response Team served a search warrant at 1120 Fritz Drive in the City of Bethlehem.

The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation into heroin dealing in the City of Bethlehem being conducted by members of the Bethlehem Police Vice Unit and Street Crimes Unit. Located inside 1120 Fritz Drive were an Andre Carrasquillo Jr (age 35), an Erica Rivera (age 36) and five children ranging in age from 10 to 16.

A search of the residence revealed a total of 93 bags of heroin, 27 grams of loose heroin, 4 bags of cocaine, 10 grams of loose cocaine, a scale and packaging materials and 4,800 dollars in cash. The total value of the heroin was estimated at 14,000 dollars and the total value of cocaine was estimated at 800 dollars.

Carrasquillo was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver heroin, possession with the intent to deliver cocaine, criminal use of communications and possession of drug paraphernalia. Carrasquillo was arraigned before on duty Northampton County District Justice Hawke and bail set at 50,000 dollars. Carrasquillo was unable to make bail and was committed to Northampton County Prison. Rivera was also arrested and charges are pending as the investigation is continuing.

There will be construction on East Fourth St between Pierce St and Buchanan St involving a crane on Thursday April 10, 2014 between 8 am and 5 pm.  Due to the crane operation there will be a lane closure.  Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control.  Please drive carefully in the area.
