The City of Bethlehem Police Department proudly announces the promotion of two Police Officers to the rank of Sergeant as well as the swearing in of two Police Officers. The promotions were Officer Michelle Kott and Officer Mark German. Andrew Mulqueen and Joshua Hobson were both sworn in as Police Officers.
Sergeant Michelle Kott began her career with the City of Bethlehem Police Department after attaining a Bachelor’s degree from DeSales University. She was hired by the City of Bethlehem on July 7, 2004. She graduated from the Allentown Police Academy in November of 2004. She held assignments on the Department’s Patrol Division as well as with the Department’s Vice Unit. She was assigned to the Department’s Forensic Services Unit from 2009-2012. She is a member of the Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team as well as both the Lehigh and Northampton County Drug Task Forces. Sergeant Kott is assigned to the Operations Division 4th Patrol Platoon.
Sergeant Mark German joined our ranks in January of 1999 after attaining his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from AlverniaCollege in 1995. He was assigned to the Patrol Division and has worked with the department’s 4th Platoon for the past 14 years. That’s 14 years of working a steady night shift. Sergeant German is the recipient of 7 Letters of Commendation and 4 Unit Citations. Mark has worked as an Acting Sgt on numerous occasions while he was on Night Shift, but early this year he was given the opportunity to work as an Acting Sgt on a more permanent basis with a few different platoons. Sgt German is now assigned to Operations Division 1st Patrol Platoon.
Police Officer Andrew Mulqueen was born in Augusta Ga. He attended Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida prior to entering the United States Army. While in the Army he attained the rank of Sergeant while assigned to the 554th Military Police Company in Stuttgart, Germany. After he left the Army he attended the Temple University’s Criminal Justice Training Program and completed the Act 120 Basic Police Training Program in March of 2012. Officer Mulqueen’s badge number is 410. He will be assigned to the Department’s Third Platoon for his field training.
Police Officer Joshua Hobson was born in Doylestown, Pa. He graduated from Palisades High School. He then went on to attend Bucks County Community College, graduating with an Associates Degree. Following his college graduation he attended the Montgomery County Police Academy and completed the Act 120 Basic Police Training Program in July of 2012. Officer Hobson’s badge number is 411. He will be assigned to the Department’s First Platoon for his field training.
