Investigators Seek Assistance of the Public in Homicide Investigation

    The Bethlehem Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Homicide Task Force are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying individuals who may have information that is useful in the investigation of a fatal shooting on Jan. 26, 2013.

At 1:36 a.m. on Jan. 26, 2013, Bethlehem police responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of West Broad Street, Bethlehem. Police found a man in the street in front of Scoobie’s Gentlemen’s Club. City paramedics treated the man at the scene, and took the victim to St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

The victim, Tyree Wimberly of Allentown was pronounced dead at the hospital at 3:40 a.m. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide. Police and Task Force detectives have released photographs of individuals who are considered potential witnesses and may have information about the shooting death.
