At approximately 3:00 p.m., an adult female driver was driving west on Johnston Drive when she lost control of her vehicle. She drove off the road and through three yards prior to striking the side of the house at 510 Johnston Drive. She was able to get out of the vehicle and remove a small child from the back seat who was seated back there with his mother. They had minor cuts and scrapes and were taken to the hospital for further evaluation. An adult male passenger had to be assisted out of the vehicle by the Bethlehem Fire Department and Bethlehem City Paramedics due to a leg injury. He was also taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital.
The vehicle struck an enclosed porch area of the house and fortunately, the residents were located further inside the house and were not harmed during the crash. The Red Cross was notified but after an inspection by a Bethlehem Housing inspector, it was determined that, other than the front porch area, the house was structurally sound so the residents could remain. The homeowner contacted a contractor who arrived before emergency workers cleared the scene to board up the side of the home for the evening. The crash is still under investigation and the names of the involved parties are not being released at this time. NO MORE INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
