Musikfest Police Activity: Part II Monday through Wedesday

Bethlehem, PA

The first three days of Musikfest police activity are detailed in our earlier blog post here.

Musikfest 2012 has continued to be a little more mellow in terms of fights and disorderly conduct.  If there is a troubling trend, it is the number of arrests being made for very young teens who are highly intoxicated.  It is important to note that we have no indication that any of these incidents involves these minors being served alcohol by Musikfest, or any of the area establishments.  These young teens, some as young as fourteen (14) years of age are arriving at Musikfest, having consumed alcohol elsewhere.  On the topic of Underage Drinking, as we noted in our “The guide on how not to get arrested” post before Musikfest started, “That will always result in your arrest and removal from the festival.  Despite how old you think you look, you look really young to us and probably don’t have much of an ability to behave properly after drinking.  Yes, we know the backpack trick, the water bottle trick, and quite a few others that we tried a time or two.  This one is very simple, if you are under 21, don’t drink at Musikfest.”  The reality of this situation is that high risk behavior will always tried by teenagers and they will always continue to try to push the limits.  It is up to the adults to keep our youngest generation from pushing those limits too far.  Parents may be hated for keeping tabs on their teen, but that is part of the job of a parent.

That being said, on to the arrest information:
