Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan to Welcome the Third Citizens’ Academy Class on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Town Hall
Bethlehem, Pa. – (March 27, 2012) – Mayor Callahan and the City of Bethlehemare pleased to announce the commencement of the third Citizens’ Academy. The opening session of this year’s Citizens’ Academy will take place on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Hall (rotunda) at 10 East Church Street, Bethlehem, PA, 18018. Mayor Callahan will welcome the class with a presentation on City Government.
The Citizens’ Academy is a program designed to inform residents about how their local government operates. Participants enrolled in the Citizens’ Academy will attend in-depth presentations and demonstrations of the inner workings of local government. Two-hour classes will take place once a week for 11 weeks.
The City of Bethlehem hopes that this program will create a more informed community and that such education will spark an interest in community involvement in local government.

On-line registration for the spring 2012 session was announced in January. 23 participants have pre-registered for the 2012 course.
