At approximately 6:30 PM on 05 January, 2013, City of Bethlehem officers were dispatched to the intersection of Stefko Boulevard and Walters Street on the report of a single vehicle crash in front of the ’Just Born’ candy company. On arrival the driver was discovered deceased and a passenger, who was extricated from the vehicle by the Bethlehem Fire Department, was admitted to St. Luke’s Hospital with unknown injuries. Members of the Northampton County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office was notified. At this time, speed appears to have been a factor in the crash. Bethlehem Police Department Major Accident Reconstruction Team members are currently investigating the crash and no additional information will be released at this time. The Northampton County Coroner’s Office is attempting to notify next of kin. More information will be released as it becomes available.
